The Task Force was represented by its Director Mr. Bonaventure Ebayi and one of the Field Officers. The regional workshop was officially opened by Mr. Kunio Mikuriya the Secretary General of WCO. Mr. Ebayi was also given the opportunity to address workshop participants during the closing ceremony on need for closer cooperation among states and agencies in fighting trafficking in environmentally sensitive goods including wild fauna and flora. The address was in addition to a presentation made earlier by Mr. Ebayi entitled ‘The Lusaka Agreement: a regional approach to combating cross-border wildlife crime’.
