LATF participates at the CITES Ivory and Rhinoceros Enforcement Task Force meeting
The Lusaka Agreement Task Force participated at the CITES Ivory and Rhinoceros Enforcement Task Force meeting that was held from 17th to 19th May 2011 in Nairobi. The meeting was convened by CITES Secretariat to provide a forum to exchange intelligence regarding smuggling of ivory and rhinoceros specimens and develop strategies for combating illegal trade. LATF director visits the United Republic of Tanzania
During 27th February to 9th March 2011 the Director of LATF Mr. Bonaventure Ebayi accompanied by a Field Officer made an official visit to the United Republic of Tanzania to brief the president of the Bureau of the Governing Council and discuss the progress made by LATF on the implementation of the Lusaka Agreement as well as ongoing activities in the year 2011/2012. LATF participation in 9th WCO RILO ESA & NCP Administrative Meeting at Victoria, Mahe Island, Seychelles
LATF participated in the 9th RILO ESA National Contact Points administrative meeting from 11th to 14th October 2010. During the meeting LATF officer, Mr. Adan Mohamed Alio made a presentation on LATF’s present activities as well as shared our experience on issues related to wildlife law enforcement including seizures made with assistance from customs authorities and cooperation with WCO/RILOs. LATF convened an extraordinary Bureau Meeting of the 9th Governing Council at Laico Regency Hotel, Nairobi on 29th and 30th September 2010. In attendance were Hon. The 2nd Meetign of the Bureau of the 9th Governing Council
The 2nd meeting of the Bureau of the 9th Governing Council of the Lusaka Agreement was held on 15th and 16th October 2009 at Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
The meeting was attended by Bureau Officers, the Ministers from The United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) who are the current President, Vice –President and Rapporteur respectively of the Bureau of the Governing Council, accompanied by their technical officers.

Lusaka Agreement Task Force (LATF) gets new head during The Bureau Of The 9th Governing Council Meeting.
Introduction
The Bureau of the 9th Governing Council of the Lusaka Agreement appointed Mr. Bonaventure Ebayi from the Republic of Congo the Director at the Meeting held on 16th February 2009 at Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
The meeting was attended by Bureau Officers and the Ministers from the Parties to the Agreement accompanied by their technical officers. The Kingdom of Lesotho was not represented at the meeting.
During the same meeting the Bureau also appointed Dr. Abraham Bimo Nkhata of the Republic of Zambia as Field Officer and Mr. Karl Karugaba of the Republic of Uganda, the Intelligence Officer.
The representative of the President of the 9th Governing Council congratulated the appointees and urged all the Parties to support the new Director in fulfilling his mandate
